Methodology
- Matching key. Manufacturer style codes, normalized to letters and digits (5+ characters). A product listed with several style codes counts as present if any one of them matches, so variants never inflate a gap.
- Catalogs. GOAT's catalog includes resellable products and retail-only product pages, so "not on GOAT" means no product page of any kind. StockX products that expose no manufacturer style code cannot be compared by SKU and are left out, which makes every StockX-side figure a lower bound.
- §B. B1 counts SKUs listed on the comparison marketplace that have no entry on the marketplace in view. B2 is the part of that gap that the third marketplace also lists.
- §C. SKUs that appear in neither the marketplace in view nor the comparison marketplace (by style code, or by our product matcher's link to a catalog page). C1 covers two curated resale platforms, shown anonymized. C2 covers SKUs in stock at five or more independent retailers; retailers under common ownership count once and resale platforms are excluded.
- §D. In-stock items on each brand's own website, deduplicated by style code. An item counts as listed when its style code is in the catalog or our product matcher has linked it to a catalog page. For Poizon only items with a style code are counted. Brands with fewer than 25 in-stock items are omitted.
- Brands. Counts follow each platform's own brand attribution, so a collaboration usually sits under the primary brand.
